Zimbabwe Casinos

The prospect of living in Zimbabwe is somewhat of a risk at the moment, so you may think that there would be little appetite for patronizing Zimbabwe’s casinos. Actually, it appears to be operating the opposite way, with the atrocious market conditions creating a greater eagerness to gamble, to attempt to discover a fast win, a way out of the problems.
For most of the people subsisting on the meager local wages, there are 2 popular types of betting, the state lotto and Zimbet. As with practically everywhere else on the planet, there is a state lotto where the probabilities of hitting are surprisingly small, but then the prizes are also surprisingly high. It’s been said by market analysts who study the concept that the majority don’t buy a card with a real belief of winning. Zimbet is built on either the local or the United Kingston football leagues and involves determining the outcomes of future matches.
Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, on the other foot, look after the astonishingly rich of the country and vacationers. Up until a short while ago, there was a very substantial vacationing business, centered on nature trips and visits to Victoria Falls. The economic woes and connected conflict have cut into this market.
Amongst Zimbabwe’s gambling dens, there are two in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has 5 gaming tables and slot machines, and the Plumtree gambling den, which has only slots. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has only slots. Mutare contains the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the pair of which offer table games, slot machines and video machines, and Victoria Falls has the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, each of which have gaming machines and blackjack, roulette, and craps tables.
In addition to Zimbabwe’s gambling dens and the aforestated mentioned lottery and Zimbet (which is quite like a parimutuel betting system), there are also two horse racing complexes in the state: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the 2nd city) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.
Seeing as that the economy has deflated by beyond 40% in the past few years and with the associated deprivation and conflict that has come to pass, it isn’t known how well the tourist industry which is the backbone of Zimbabwe’s gambling halls will do in the in the years to come. How many of the casinos will still be around until things get better is simply not known.
