Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where casino betting is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are situated in a generally small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent location, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital accrued from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; however, funding sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes required to cross, there are means around this, as is true of most border crossings.
The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slots and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around vacation and hotel compound that contains many conveniences accompanying the gambling den, which houses 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
