Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent destination, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; still, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are for all intents and purposes needed to pass, there are means around this, as is true of many border crossings.
The first Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge gambling den, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty table games. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are 150 slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the common table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational vacation and hotel compound that features a number of amenities aside from the gambling hall, which has ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
